IN RESPONSE to Ms Hayes’ letter on June 29.
The decision by Newport City Council to withdraw the financial support for the four morning journeys on the 26C route has led to the cancellation of these services.
This support also allowed Newport Transport to operate other pre-5am journeys on other services.
Due to the small number of passengers using our network before 5am and this withdrawal of support, it is not commercially viable to continue with these services in addition to the non-profitable routes already operated by the company.
