RE THE report that the Transporter Bridge is a tourist attraction in Cardiff, readers might like to take a look at a film called Tiger Bay, the events of which happen in Cardiff. It can be seen free online.
The film opens with a shot of a steam pannier tank from Pill engine shed moving through the docks, followed by a fine shot of the transporter bridge.
The next scene takes place on the gondola of the bridge, after which we see the main character disembarking from his ship at Cardiff.
Perhaps the bridge was in Cardiff then, but the Tourist Board were not informed that it had been moved to Newport.
Good film though!
