WHEN challenged over the attempt to claw back just £41 from a grieving family whose son had just died, the Department for Works and Pension used the justification that 'it has a clear duty to protect taxpayers’ money'.
It is a shame that the same argument is not being used as Chancellor Osborne attempts to sell off the shareholding in HSBC losing the taxpayer a cool £7.2 billion in the process.
A different rule for different people perhaps?
