I’M PLAID Cymru’s Assembly Candidate for Torfaen and I’m writing to say how much of an honour it was to take part in Pontypool’s remembrance service on Sunday.
I was really surprised at how moving an experience it was to lay a wreath at the gates – which I haven’t done since I was in the Boys Brigade as a teenager.
It was impossible to not reflect on and feel moved by the sacrifice made for Torfaen, for Wales and for the world.
It’s so important that we remember the rights and freedoms that were fought for, and continue to uphold them every day. For myself, it was hard not to reflect on how our Democratic processes allow us to do this.
I’d just like to say thank you to everyone who organised this special event, including the servicemen, the local groups and Rev Brian Pippen and Rev Alvan Richards-Clarke.
