STEVE Lewis (Argus, January 19) suggests that Syrian refugees are likely to be bad neighbours. Why so?
Those coming to Britain under the government scheme are vulnerable families judged to be in danger in their existing situations. They should be welcomed.
Steve might find, as I have done, that meeting those who have fled war or persecution in their homelands will enrich his life as he learns about their lives and experiences.
The news today carries reports of racists attacking homes of asylum seekers in parts of Britain.
Replies to Argus social media posts contain foul-mouthed attacks on refugees.
I would be far more worried about having one of these people as a new neighbour than having a family of Syrian refugees.
