THE exchange between Justine Welby and Nigel Farage in relation to sexual attacks on women in Cologne by migrants seems to have again ignited the race debate. Welby condemns Farage for ‘legitimising racism’. How so? By stating proven facts?
I have lost count of the times a contributor on a phone-in has been muted having simply stated facts, without racist connotation, relating to recent events in this country when cultural attitudes by some Asian men towards white British women were a perceived factor in relation to the offences they committed. The media can’t have it both ways. If they report these incidents they should also record the responses to them.
The majority of people of this country are not racist but they do have legitimate concerns and should be allowed to express them without this constant accusation that every comment or criticism is racist.
