UNDER the heading “Veteran MP warns of a crisis in Democracy”, I eagerly read the rest of Paul Flynn’s statement, hoping that it was about the backsliding and conniving by past and present MPs to try and ignore the result by a majority of 1.7 million voters to leave
the EU, which I hope he thinks is very undemocratic.
Alas no, he was referring to the constituency boundary changes which will see MP numbers reduced from 650 to 600 members, thereby saving £12 million and equalising voter numbers in each constituency.
I don’t see anything undemocratic about that.
The old adage about turkeys not voting for Christmas comes to mind here.
