ON August 10, I wrote to sixteen AMs who it might be considered would have a significant interest in the problems of the M4 around Newport.
I expressed my concerns regarding the proposed M4 Black Route, on the grounds that it would cause widespread environmental destruction.
Hefin David AM, Mohammad Asghar AM, Jayne Bryant AM and Steffan Lewis AM gave me considered responses although in some cases perhaps rather non-committal.
I thank them for taking the time to read my e-mail and respond.
A number (Lynne Neagle AM, John Griffiths AM, Julie Morgan AM, Dawn Bowden AM, Nick Ramsay AM) declined to comment on the grounds that as I was not a constituent of theirs, they were unable to help me, that it was “… not appropriate to comment as there is going to be a public enquiry ...” or that it was “… not appropriate to comment as this issue will be debated by the Assembly ...”.
I consider this a fence-sitting response at best.
I have received no response from: Alun Davies AM, Jenny Rathbone AM, Vaughan Gething AM, Mick Antoniw AM, Rhianon Passmore AM, David Rowlands AM and Mark Reckless AM.
