I READ with interest your article on Pill and the intention of sorting out the problems i.e. drink, drugs, prostitutes and fly-tipping.
There was a policy a few years ago when the police took drink off people in the streets and poured it away.
When did they revoke this as everywhere you look there are people sat on benches drinking whilst numerous police vehicles pass by, the same with drugs and prostitutes.
We can all see them. Do the police wear blinkers?
The state of our streets is disgraceful.
Our grandparents kept the outside of their homes spotless, pavements swept, washed, windows cleaned, letter boxes shined, they would turn in their graves if they seen it now.
Rubbish, furniture, fridges etc outside on pavements also blocking them so disabled scooters and people with prams have difficulty in getting by.
So yes, I for one welcome the clean up. It’s not before time.
People in Pill are fed up with being the dumping ground for all and sundry.
Bring back the pride in Pill.
We are fast becoming a no-go area.
