CONGRATULATIONS to Mr Bob Cooke, who recently received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Gwent Association of Voluntary Organisations (Gavo) and Caerphilly Council. Many Islwyn residents will remember Bob as a former Islwyn Borough Council councillor, mayor and leader. He is now standing down as vice-chairman of Gavo after many years of selfless voluntary service to the people of Gwent. Bob’s outstanding contribution thoroughly deserves this recognition and I know many will join me in wishing him well for the future.
