WHY all negative talk about the Beachley Barracks closing in the next ten years?

Now is the time to think positive.

Ask our Members of Parliament, County Councils. District Councils, Town and Parish Councils on both sides of the River Wye for their support to obtain the Barracks and turn it into Beachley Village.

This over the years has become a village all on its own.

We have on our doorstep numerous well built houses in and outside the camp for rent and sale, affordable homes which are needed in the area, not forgetting the accommodation of a large number of single rooms that are used by the troops.

On site they have an indoor swimming pool, gymnasium, outside football, rugby, shooting range, running tracks, etc. There is a church, nursery school, officers and Sargent’s mess which could be used as social centres and buildings for small industrial workshops.

Good bus service into Chepstow and Lydney. Excellent schools in the area. Office space, doctors and dentist and small shops. The list goes on and on. Facilities are second to none.

Will the MOD consider letting the camp for a peppercorn rent? Or like other MOD property put a barb wire fence around and let it rot?
