CONFUSION is going to be caused soon as NAT are going to be running a fifteen-minute bus service to St Julian’s between the hours of 9.00am and 15.00pm Monday to Saturday. This will be in addition to Newport Transport’s thirty-minute service to the estate.

Some will welcome this, but I fail to see how NAT expects to gain from this as invariably, it is the same people who regularly travel to and from St Julians. More buses do not necessarily result in more passengers.
What will happen is more confusion, more traffic congestion, more air pollution and more noise.

In my view, six buses an hour running to a small estate is far too many.
I am pleased to say that so far, most passengers have remained loyal to Newport Transport and they have recognised their loyalty and the concerns expressed in my petition and by other means by bringing back a late evening service.

Newport Transport has assured me they are not pulling out of St Julians so the most effective way of ending the confusion will be to remain loyal to Newport Transport.
