IT’S TRUE, there is no place like home.
Sadly, I am referring to the filth and litter I see everywhere around the city, after returning from a holiday in the immaculate Canary Islands.
Most of the litter is outside of people’s houses, which they could pick up and dispose of themselves, if not just for pride’s sake. But, no, I bet it’s the ‘not my responsibility, I never dropped it’ attitude at play here.
A few people are trying to reinvigorate our city with different projects, but a bit of invigorating in people’s attitudes to making the place look less like a huge rubbish dump would be a great cause.
I’d join it. It saddens and annoys me, in equal measure.
