I WRITE after reading Mr David Davies’ article on 31st July.

As someone born and raised in South Wales I am heartbroken to read his comments. He has swallowed trans-exclusionary feminist rhetoric and failed to consider that one in four transitions are female to male.

Under his regime, I would have cowered in my home for the eleven years until surgery, fearful of what would happen should I use a male public toilet. Failure to integrate is a reason to deny surgery. I am a tax paying voter with a small mortgage and stable employment.

In his world, I would likely still be on benefits, struggling to survive both physically and mentally.

In nearly thirty years, I encountered no objections other than those published, (like his) and a handful of placard waving bigots. I used gender neutral toilet facilities in Manchester last year. It was a positive experience. We should be moving forwards.

Professor Daphne Joel showed that the brain has no sex - youtube.com/watch?v=rYpDU040yzc - Dr Norman Spack demonstrates the power of hormones on our emotions and skeletal structures - youtu.be/qtkJlqTCPNU?t=14m57s - The ISNA shows that one in a 100 births are not, “standard,” - isna.org/faq/frequency.

We should destroy the hateful, divisional tropes of pink and blue, and treat each other as unique, individual human beings.

Unfortunately, as long as people like Mr Davies are alive, progress has no chance.
