I WRITE with respect to the item in SWA regarding the poor coverage of Newport County AFC games by the BBC.
This is not a new complaint it has been the case for many years.
Last Saturday I spent a considerable amount of time on radio and on-line trying to find live commentary of Coventry V Newport only to discover that Radio Wales were covering Wrexham, Cardiff City and Swansea so I had to be content with live text of our match.
I fully understand that the BBC would prioritise the Swansea City game as their Premier League status deserves but I feel that at this stage of the season, Newport County, deserve equal coverage as other Welsh teams.
If BBC Wales feels that Cardiff is also seen as a priority for transmission in terms of importance it follows that Newport County; being an EFL club; should be favoured over Non-League Wrexham but this is clearly not the case.
I urge the Newport fans to continue to write to the producers of BBC Radio Wales to address this issue of unfairness.
