THERE seems to be a brainwave of some idiotic senior personnel within government circles to combine the Royal Marines and the parachute Brigades, and to slash yet another 14,000 troops from our already depleted forces.

For a very long time I have questioned the need of NATO, where may I ask was NATO when the Argentinians took the Falklands? But more importantly, are we now able to repeat what happened the last time, we no longer have the manpower etc, let alone retake what is ours.

The MoD say that no decisions have been made, and that talk of outcomes is pure speculation.

This merely means that such discussions have taken place.
What next, I dread to think what type of people we seem to have as Members of Parliament to even consider such ludicrous ideas.

Our brilliant military forces should be supported in every possible way and not depleted as has happened since this present government took office.

I have an idea, I am more than capable of taking up arms against any enemy force as long as these plonkers are prepared to do the same, even at my age.

If they say that “no decisions have been made” what decisions may I ask, have been made?
