BACK in July, 2017, I asked our esteemed Assembly members Rhianon Passmore, member for Islwyn, and Jayne Bryant for Newport when the long awaited rail link from Ebbw Vale to Newport would be completed.
I was treated to the usual platitudes and assurances from our elected members.
With AM s John Griffiths and Ken Skates saying they had met with Network Rail, who told them that the options to increases services would be clear in the Autumn of 2017.
Well its now 2018 and still no sign of the long anticipated rail link.
Our politicians have stood ideally by, while Cardiff enjoys investment and growth, Islwyn Valley is left in the slow lane with a train service that fails to meet the economic and social needs of Islwyn.
