NOW that the elections are done and dusted, as a Labour Party supporter, I would hope that all the Labour councillors who have been elected will carry out their roles with humility, remember what they have promised their electorate, and also make themselves available to their constituents, and to the press (which unfortunately it seems the leader of Newport City Council didn’t do initially, a black mark already!).
I would also hope that anyone who is elected , whether as an Independent, or aligned to any party, has the good grace to resign their seat, and force a by-election, rather than switch to a party for which they weren’t elected or resign the party whip.
