WE’D like to say “thank you” to the people of Rogerstone for their overwhelming support in the recent Newport city elections. We have hit the ground running, already working hard on the issues you raised with us along the way. Many of them will take time to resolve as we work through to find solutions that are legal, suit residents and actually do the job they’re meant to.
Our core pledges to be open, honest and accountable, and to listen carefully to your views, will guide us over the coming years.
Newport has many challenges, and although we didn’t promise the earth, we did promise our very hardest work – and we will deliver on that.
We’d also like to thank the outgoing councillors for their contribution – especially Val and Stephen, who stayed to shake hands after the result on election night.
One of our promises was regular surgeries all over the ward – we will shortly be announcing when and where. In the meantime, don’t hesitate to contact us. It would be great to hear from you. Tom 07880 742886, Chris 07778 279235 or Sally 07786 267371. Thank you again.
Tom Bond, Chris Evans, Sally Mlewa, Labour City Councillors for Rogerstone
