I WOULD just like to write this short letter thanking all the wonderful people of Newport for making the Olympic torchbearing parade such a superb celebration .
As parents of one of the torch bearers we were very proud that our daughter was nominated for this special occasion but I must say we were as proud of all those lovely people who made the effort to turn out to give the whole occasion such a memorable and happy atmosphere. Again, well done Newport, you deserve a big pat on the back.
