THE Shakespeare family are of particular interest to me, though I make no claims to being an expert on this or any other subject and never had done. When it comes to making superb use of the English language, William Shakespeare is the man. When it comes to the superb use of the oration of Shakespeare’s plays, I’d put my money on Richard Burton.
Listening to a discussion on the radio the other day where it was being said that British linguistic culture is possibly about to be supplanted by that of Indian or Chinese culture left me thinking that it could very well be so, especially should there be in-fighting amongst the members of the British Isles.
It’s already happened with manufacturing, why not with linguistic culture?
