WITH reference to the comments made by Mr Brian Donovan in Thursday’s letters section, where he replied to one of my previous publications, can I take the opportunity to state that I, too, find dog mess that is not picked up and disposed of in public, disgusting and wrong.

I would however like to stress that this was not the subject of my original letter. I did, instead, make comment on the limitations of where you can take your dog as company in public. I’m not sure if you have noticed but the subject of dog mess in public is one of my pet hates (excuse the pun) of which I have banged on about time and time again in the letters section of the Argus.

It’s a serious subject that requires urgent attention and action but I feel I have exhausted that subject and wanted to instead highlight another issue that dog owners have to endure which is the limitation of places you can take a pet dog in public.

As is often the case with anti social and petty crime in society, it is the minority who are responsible for the majority of crimes but the majority of good folk have to thereafter suffer from the consequences.
