I READ in the South Wales Argus that ex-Detective Chief Superintendent Ian ‘Jock’ Johnston is to stand for the post of Gwent Police and Crime Commissioner. I served with Jock Johnstone when we were both Constables and saw him rise through the ranks. I can assure readers that if there is a man for this job, it has to be Ian Johnston. His experience cannot be questioned, he’s been there done it and has the T-shirt to prove it.
He is one of the old school, who prides himself on turnout, manners and politeness to the public.
If I were a serving officer in Gwent Police, I would take a long hard look at myself. ‘Jock’ Johnston is on his way and he doesn’t suffer fools gladly. Remember the name Ian Johnston, and when the time comes vote for him. He will make a difference.
