Standard snub is disgusting

READING letters regarding Wales not being on the Union Flag, what I think is more disgusting than that is that Wales is not represented on the Royal standard.

It is made up of the lions of England top left and bottom right, the flag of Scotland top right, and the harp of Ireland bottom left. The red behind the lions of England is supposed to represent Wales, I could make a comment on that but it wouldn’t get printed.

Gareth says...

Disgusted, really? For some people it's the financial mess, war and pillage. Others are disgusted by political mismanagement or the way some mistreat others for no reason other than the colour of their skin or their place of workship.

But what disgusts you is the stitching on a piece of cotton waved from a house in London? Everyone to their own I suppose. Sigh...

Okay, as it hankers you so, I thought it only right that I do what i can to help out. After a bit of research, I have found that the reason Wales is not represented is because its special position as a Principality was recognised by the creation of the Prince of Wales long before the incorporation of the quarterings for Scotland and Ireland in the Royal Arms.

Not sure if that helps (doesn't really scan well for me if i'm honest), but I did my best...
