SO, if Plaid Cymru are the daffodil Tories, what do you call a councillor who shares a campaign platform with many right-wing Tories and far right supporters?
Well, that’s what Councillor Nigel Dix did during the Welsh referendum, going against his socialist Labour party.
Since the Tony and Gordon days, New Labour has been known as champagne socialist, after New Labour adopted many old Thatcher policies of the 1980s. This is why Plaid Cymru are the only Welsh social party; they don’t go cap in hand to an English warchest full of donations from rich businesspeople or union barons.
Sadly, Wales has suffered under Labour with job losses from Woolworths to Burberry; children and pensioners living in poverty.
Our schools and NHS still lack enough funding to make a real difference. Now Wales is at the mercy of Tory cuts and Labour in Wales can’t do a single thing except play the blame game.
Things could have been different if Labour had joined with Plaid, SNP, Liberals and other MPs to form a rainbow coalition in Westminter. They knew what cuts await.
