I SHARE Norman Plaisted’s concerns about the implications for parents and teachers should marriage be redefined (Letters, July 5).

Not so long ago, the very idea of same sex marriage and the country’s Prime Minister lending support to it would have seemed too ludicrous to have merited discussion.

But now that society is rapidly losing sight of its true meaning, marriage is open to any definition whatsoever.

Of course, merely calling a relationship marriage doesn’t make it a marriage and even if government is foolish enough to try to redefine it, there will always be the “real thing” and “the other kind”!

The British public is not stupid.
