I READ in the item on the WW2 re-enactment (Argus 9 July) of the young lady who was the “flat gun operator”.
My research shows that flat guns fired postcards at the Allied bombers asking them to go home. While the flat guns were firing, the fliegerabwehrkanone or flak gunners were having a sausage sandwich.
