TWO hundred and four national teams are taking part in the
Olympic Games. But not Wales. We have to be content with having
our identity absorbed into a so called ‘Team GB.’ Thirty
Welsh people are taking part in the games, I wish them all luck.
As in athletics, we can ask where is Team Wales in politics?
We have made progress in that there is an elected Welsh
Government in Cardiff Bay. Sadly it is run by the New Labour
Party, which in Wales exists to promote a new New Labour
government in London.
Nothing changes; in 1979 Neil Kinnock and Leo Abse ran a
campaign against self-government for Wales. They won that
campaign then and the reward for the people of Wales – 18
years of Tory government.
The same old New Labour faces are in charge of the New Labour
Party in London, Cardiff Bay and councils across Wales, the
same as ever.
It is no good having a First Minister of Wales who is a puppet
of New Labour careerists in London. We need a dynamic national
leader to lead our country to freedom and the prosperity that
will come with independence.
