Last weekend, I came down to South Wales to meet up with family and scatter our grandad’s ashes where he grew up in Oakdale. I had the misfortune to end up with my car being stuck in a ditch by Blackwood Garden Centre.
While I was waiting for a tow truck to get my car out, I got chatting to three teenagers. They stayed with me during the two hours it took to get my car out, kept my spirits up and even went to the garden centre to fetch wood to help the tow truck driver. They refused to leave me until my car was out safely. I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Matthew, Bryan and Kimberley for all their help and tell their parents what an absolute credit they are to them. Teenagers today can sometimes get a bad press, but these three lovely people should be very proud of themselves, helping out a total stranger. I didn’t get their surnames, but they are ex/current pupils at Oakdale school. Many, many thanks!
