DURING a holiday to Cyprus in May of this year, it became necessary for me to seek medical treatment at one of the hospitals there. I had to pay for this treatment, so at the end of May, I applied to the Department for Work and Pensions for reimbursement.

I rang them today (August 1), to enquire when I would receive payment from them. Their customer service representative said that she had no idea! The only information she could give was that they were at present dealing with claims made in January of this year. The lady gave the impression that she could not care less about my plight or their backlog. She displayed complete indifference.

Perhaps if any of our Members of Parliament read my letter, they might like to comment.
