ON Saturday I had the pleasure of taking part in the Blackwood carnival, one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the year, as I joined community groups, carnival queens and brass bands in marching down Blackwood High Street.
It was fantastic to see so many people from Blackwood and beyond lining the streets to enjoy the sights and sounds of the day. None of this could have been achieved without the support of our local community groups, from the Cefn Fforest Marching Band to the Blackwood Musical Theatre Group, who were out in force to support our town.
I would like to congratulate everybody who took part in what was an excellent advert for Blackwood.
