City's looking so neglected

First published in Letters

WHAT has happened to our road sweeper?

Cromwell Road used to be kept clean and tidy. Now the gutters in Liscombe Street are full of dead leaves. I am worried the drains will block and houses will be flooded if we have a rain storm. Services are being closed down. I tried to use the disabled toilet in the bus station, but it was padlocked. Not a very good advert for Newport as the toilet is near the long-distance coaches. I do not like to run Newport down, but we are more like a third world country than a great British city.
