There has been an air of secrecy and anticipation coming from Number 49 this last week. Having seen both Carolyn the youth worker, and Angharad the sports officer in close consultation managed to elicit some snippets of information from them to the effect that there is to be a presentation at the centre. Watch this space for more information next week.

A whisper from the club has informed me that one of the members has recently received a presentation upon achieving fifty years membership of the Mothers Union.

Community centre

Jane Wheale, the very busy centre manager, has sent me the following information on the courses that will be running from September this year. The courses will include Computers for the Terrified, Internet and e-mail, Digital Photography for beginners. New courses include Digital Photography - Intermediate; Welsh for the Family year 1 and 2; Spanish; CLAIT; Art; IT and Communications and Psychology.

PUBLIC DRINKING: It would appear that the problem of youngsters drinking alcohol in public places is not entirely over. A gentleman of my acquaintance informed me that some young men were seen drinking on a grassy patch just off Drinkwater Gardens.
